Exploring How We Create Meaning with Tarot

Promethea: A Teleconference and Tarot Exploration. Complete.

Prometheahead

A Tarot Exploration Teleconference of the Legendary Graphic Novel Promethea in Five Books by Alan Moore, J.H. Williams III, and Mick Gray (Wildstorm.com)

The purpose of this study was to apply tarot interpretations to the study of this Thoth tarot inspired story. See index below to see how well we did.

Some previous conferences can be accessed at index to Promethea Recorded Audio Conferences

The teleconference discussion is envisioned to be in three parts:

First, we read a chapter: participants choosing to read a role. There is plenty of humor and puns so ham it up and enjoy the melodrama!

Next we discuss the chapter and review it, paying close attention to the pictures in our discussion, so we all have a pretty good idea of what's going on.

Then following the author's notes we discuss references, characters, intertextual materials, matters of plot, archetypal personas, and outré subjects and arcane bits of lore.  (There may be a few chapters which we will reread because of complexity of richness of references and for continuity of discussion.)

Lastly will consult the Thoth tarot oracularly about issues that arise in discussion.

Participants are free to suggest side excursions into references and lore and other issues that arise. For instance, we may adapt plot or story elements to create spreads and other ways to open our understanding of Tarot and the imagination.

I believe we will do a chapter a week but after we get to the more occult lore and references we may take more time than one week with a chapter.

Some of the audio discussions are recorded. They are rough, unfinished, spontaneous.
